IT'S TIME TO SPEAK OUT

The FFPE invites the Commission to act faster and harder to prevent psychosocial risks

As if the pressure resulting from new working time arrangements and an increased workload were not enough, at the same time posts are being eliminated, colleagues are not being replaced when they leave, particularly on retirement, career perspectives are shrinking, checks and suspicion are growing, administrative reforms are totally opaque and too often a fait accompli, and too many colleagues are being side-lined…

19/01/2016 | DG TAXUD'S MOVE: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT “OPEN PLAN” OFFICES?

DG TAXUD's move:

How do you feel about “open plan” offices?

A number of tasks continues to be further outsourced by the Commission: security guards, canteens, drivers, IT, crèches, etc. To this list we can add the tasks already delegated to the Executive Agencies and the Offices (OIB, PMO, OIL…), which operate as semi-privatised bodies (albeit not always very effectively).

Many colleagues from DG TAXUD have contacted the FFPE. They are annoyed about the information they are receiving regarding their DG's move to a new building. The reason for their annoyance is the prospect of being moved into "landscape" or "open plan" offices

09/10/2015 | EXTERNALISATION, CENTRALISATION, PRIVATISATION:

Budgetary constraints too often at the expense of the human factor!

09/10/2015 | EUROPEAN SCHOOLS: REGROUPING OF SIBLINGS

European schools

WE HAVE WON HALF THE BATTLE, BUT THE FIGHT GOES ON!

Dear colleagues,

We have taken a first step towards the reestablishment of the principle of regrouping siblings within the European Schools. By its decisions adopted at the end of August (only decision 15/23 has been published to date), the European Schools’ Complaints Board upheld the appeals introduced by parents (some with the FFPE’s support).

The 2015-2016 enrolment policy for the Brussels schools provided for the regrouping of siblings only when they were in the same school cycle (i.e., nursery/primary or secondary). As a result, having a brother or sister in secondary school was not taken into account when examining requests for enrolments in nursery or primary classes.
